Common BAM Resources

One of the benefits of being part of a global network of communities is that we can share common resources and assets. Our goal is to ensure that, as meetup and chapter leaders, you have everything you need to be successful. Below are some of the common resources and assets that we share amongst the communities – as well as instructions on how to access them.

It also goes without saying, if there is something that you need which is not listed here, please ask. We can’t guarantee it, but we will make every effort to do so.

Meetup.com

We have a global meetup account that is used for the majority of communities. If you have not yet started your meetup, please complete the BAM application form and we will set everything up for you. You are always welcome to use your own meetup account if you like.

If you an established BAM and would like to migrate to our common meetup account, please email Evan Leybourn. It’s not a straightforward process, but it is possible.

Zoom

We currently pay for 4 standard Zoom lines and a Zoom webinar line (for up to 500 attendees). As there are more communities than there are zoom lines, we have a scheduling tool that we request you use to book one of the zoom accounts. This is important to ensure that no one else is using the account at that time.

  1. Register an account with Supersaas. Make sure you set your timezone so the calendar shows the right times. By default the times are shown in US Pacific time.
  2. Once you are logged in, find the time you want to book in the calendar and click on that timeslot.
  3. Set the details. By default it will book an hour slot, but you can make it whatever you want.
  4. Pick the type of zoom account that you want (zoom room or zoom webinar)
  5. Once you click Create Reservation , you’ll get an email with the logon details. If you do not get an email with a few minutes, email Evan Leybourn.
  6. For a webinar (as opposed to a zoom room), you will still need to log into zoom.us (with the provided username/password) and setup the webinar. The booking tool won’t do that for you. It just makes sure no one else is using the room at the same time.

Mural

MURAL is a digital workspace for visual collaboration. MURAL enables innovative teams to think and collaborate visually to solve important problems. People benefit from MURAL’s speed and ease of use in creating diagrams, which are popular in design thinking and agile methodologies, as well as tools to facilitate more impactful meetings and workshops.

With huge thanks to Mural.co, they have offered 10 licenses for our BAMs to use.

This is first-come/first-served, so please email Evan Leybourn if you would like to use one of the licenses. We do not have enough for all the communities (yet), so please only claim one if you are actively running online meetups and would like a virtual whiteboard.

Digital Assets

I often get asked for copies of our logos, video intros, conference photos, editable versions of the Domains, amongst other things. To make it a bit easier for everyone, I have consolidated all this material in a single Google Drive folder. I have also included all the BAM & Chapter logos as well as some supporting marketing material and stock images to help support you in running your communities.

For obvious reasons I cannot share the link to the folder here. If you would like access, please email Evan Leybourn.
